I'm not sure what it is, but there's something about being an adult that makes it almost impossible to make friends. And I don't mean friends that you make small talk with. I mean friends who just get you and know what you're thinking before you do. The ones that don't judge you and the ones who will defend you even when you've been an absolute 100% jerk.
Where do you get friends like that? There really should be a Friends R Us.
Because as an adult, I feel like all the friendships I make are so superficial and shallow. I feel like I run out of things to talk about in 30 seconds flat.
You know those movies where people spend their lives searching for their soulmate? Forget that - I'm just searching for some cool girlfriends.
So today, #9, I am grateful for my siblings, my built-in best friends. The ones that love me unconditionally. The ones that will unapologetically tell me to stop being an idiot, and call me God-awful names when I deserve it. The ones who will show their wrath to anyone who even tries to do the same. The ones I wouldn't trade for a million close friends.
