Day 38

• As a kid, I remember my mom calling her parents once a month. And even then, the conversation would only last a few minutes after both sides would be shouting at each other just to make sure their voices were heard. A call like this could easily cost upwards of $15. The rest of the time they would exchange letters through snail mail. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• This was during the early 90s. It's crazy to think where we've come in the years since. Remember the Friends' episodes that feature answering machines and pagers? It wasn't that long ago. In our own generation, the world has completely flipped upside down. I find it crazy that my 6 month old nephew who lives across the country seems to recognize me because I FaceTime him often. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Today, #38, I'm grateful for where technology has brought us. I'm grateful that I'm able to connect with family who lives hundreds of miles away.
